Global Support Development Initiative Uganda (GDI-Uganda) Project catered for the critical need to rehabilitate the region and provide recovery to communities with emphasis on skilling and educating girl child, youth and young women, poverty eradication, menstrual hygiene management, and climate change realities among others in the Northern part of Uganda; a region that experienced civil war for the last 21 years and today the gunshots have gone silent.
Mobilized its beneficiaries who were majorly girls and young women courtesy of community leaders then conducted a number of activities among others; The team conducted Menstrual Hygiene Management sensitization to leaders for them to support girls in communities, had Discussion Session on Menstrual Hygiene Management and Ending Girl Child Marriages, and crowned the day with hygiene and sanitation activity of sweeping one of the rural community trading centers while sensitizing communities to end Child Marriage and Teenage Pregnancies as well as a support girl child to access sanitary pads and skilling programs.
